The Default Settings utility is available to load or reset the Windows registry so R:BASE launches with a default, predefined interface.
When R:BASE is first installed, the default settings are written to the registry. However, for multiple users on the same computer or server installations, those the users will not have the ideal development environment. Instead of having users manually configure settings across modules (Database Explorer, Form/Report/Label Designers, R:BASE Editor, R:Style, R> Prompt, Data Browser, Data Dictionary, etc.), the utility allows you to load a clean default environment in one step.
It is also a valuable recovery tool, letting users restore settings without reinstalling R:BASE. Users have reported success using the utility to resolve odd behaviors, restore missing menu options, or recover from registry cleaners that removed R:BASE entries.

Search History Files
The Default Settings Utility will delete .RST files from the C:\Users\<UserName>\RBTI folder when launched. If the Create Backup option is enabled, backup files (*.~rst) will be generated. Most Find in... searches store criteria in .RST files so repeated searches are available and can be run more quickly. These include:
•Find in Database Explorer
•Find in Stored Procedures
•Find in Custom EEPs
•Find in Control Properties
•Find in Expressions
•Find in R> Prompt Output
•Find in Data Dictionary
