R:BASE eXtreme 9.1 has two different software versions; R:BASE eXtreme 9.1 (32)
and R:BASE eXtreme 9.1 (64).
R:BASE eXtreme 9.1 (32) is the appropriate product upgrade for 6.x, 7.x, etc.
users whose database files use the .RB1-.RB4 file extensions. R:BASE eXtreme
9.1 (64) is the appropriate product upgrade for R:BASE Turbo V-8 users whose
database files use the .RX1-.RX4 file extensions.
The 32 and 64 represent the file pointers used in each product. A 32-bit
pointer is used in R:BASE eXtreme 9.1 (32), while a 64-bit pointer is used
in R:BASE eXtreme 9.1 (64).
Unless a user/developer does not have the requirement to support databases
over 2GB in size, R:BASE eXtreme 9.1 (32) will continue to serve data
management requirements. However, since there are many other differences
between the two versions, please review the R:BASE eXtreme 9.1
Product Comparison.
